To Prime Or
Not To Prime?

  • Use a stain blocking Primer if your wall has ink, crayon or water stains - this prevents those marks from bleeding through.

  • Use a tinted primer (tinted with the same color of your wall choice)  if you are planning to repaint a wall with a contrasting color.

  • Always Prime drywall, new wood, unevenly painted surfaces, stripped or any other "raw" surfaces.

  • Be sure to Match Primer to Paint - Water based paint needs water based primer.  Alkyd primer for alkyd paint.
