Yes, plants can add that special final touch to your room design. Take some time considering your choice but most importantly - Have Fun! Next Page >
There are some wonderfully realistic looking plants on the market, however if you are willing to pay the price - sometimes they run as much or more than the live counterparts. If you chose to go this route - KEEP THEM DUSTED - or it defeats the purpose of using plants to accessorize!
Care for your plant. If you choose to introduce a real plant in the room - keep that poor defenseless thing healthy! There is nothing more distracting, (other than an improperly hung picture), than an anemically sick plant.
To maintain the health of your potted accent consider:
- Light - is there enough light in the room?
- Height - if the plant is placed high on a top book shelf, for example, will it be difficult to water?
- Absorption - Is the pot appropriate for water absorption/retention and is there a proper drainage system protecting your furniture as well as the plant?
